Update 23rd August: Two babies have fledged :>) Update 20th August: There is more than one baby in the weaver nest in pin feather stage :>) Update 10th August: To my surprise there are babies in the Weaver nest :>) I have supplied seeding grasses, livefood, softbill mix and everything else I feed in the hope they will feed the young ...... watch this space !!! Update 28th July. The Weaver pair have laid again ... 2 eggs Two more nests with young were found in the flight .... one is Canary, the other I think is Hecks again. Update 26th July. The Weaver eggs did not hatch :>( An escaped pair of Zebra Finches are successfully rearing young loose in the bird house. Update 8th July: I observed a weaver hen leaving the nest with the blue eggs. A male Orange Bishop seems to be the dominant male in this area. Update 7th July: Some small white eggs are in one nest which I presume are Silverbills. Another weaver nest contains some bright blue eggs - can these possibly be from the hen weaver? Hecks Grassfinch: Another baby has fledged. Diamond Doves: I noted five babies fledged the same day from various nests. Update 8th June: Hecks Grassfinches: The first baby has fledged. ![]() Baby Hecks Grassfinch Update 26th May: Hecks Grassfinches: The baby is still in the nest but they have built and laid in a second nest. Update 14th May 2009. Canaries: The first of the canary eggs has hatched. Another nest seems to have infertile eggs. Hecks Grassfinches. I can spot a newly hatched baby. Australian Crested Doves: I can assume these are now infertile. ![]() Australian Crested Doves Update 1st May 2009. Australian Crested Doves: These are on eggs :>) Canaries: I can spot three nests in the colony.
